I can very much relate to this. After all, I am the guy who dropped out of Engineering in my 4th year to restart school, finished with a degree in Environmental Management that I am 'not using', has worked in the development sector since then on development policy and communications, but still has a burning passion for working in entrepreneurial development and venture building. This does not include my hobbies of political and economic analysis which, of course, I have monetised.
I often don't put everything I do on one CV because it does look messy, and I have often felt like that jack of all trades - but knowing the full quote gives me a lot of comfort. We don't have to fit in.
I am pretty sure that in this world, there is a place for generalists like us to thrive.
